7 Steps to Hiring Good Writers

It’s been a good few months of pain-in-the-ass searching for quality writers without breaking my business bank.

It can be tedious finding the right person, and it will take some time. In the end, the trade-off is well worth it. Here are a few steps you can take so you don’t burn money unnecessarily and find awesome writers sooner than later:

  1. Commit a budget – To test multiple writers
  2. Have idioms in job posting/interview questions – Check degree of knowledge
  3. Add a one-word item they must include in their response – Check if they’re seriously reading
  4. Give them a test – Check capability/mastery of language
  5. Listen to red flags – Can’t respond with sloppy writing for a writing job
  6. Fire fast – With 1-off projects
  7. Pay them well – Keep those who are worthy

Happy hiring,
